At 8 Capital, you stop being “one more” and begin to assume a leading role, both in the company's business and in your own career. Here, we have no bureaucracy and no frozen processes. We are a British company with a global presence, with more than 20 years of experience, present in 100+ countries. If on the one hand we offer the solidity of a traditional company, on the other hand we also bring the blood of a startup: dynamic, vibrant and young.
Find out who has been through it: Diego Tavares joined the GRI in 2010 as an intern. He started his journey by making small events possible and quickly stood out for the quality of his deliveries and commitment. Over time, he started to lead the team and develop new professionals within the GRI. In 2016, Diego took over the company's largest business area and became one of the partners. What seems to be something rare in many companies, here at the 8 Capital, as we value meritocracy to the extreme, it is indeed very common to find interns who are now managing partners of the Group's companies (see some cases here). The culture of our group is to value those who are in the house, supporting them with growth and development.
8 Capital offers all the resources needed for your daily work, including obviously a laptop. Inspired by the benefits policy of large companies, a couple of years ago, we implemented our BYOD policy, meaning Bring Your Own Device.
With this policy, the employee who is willing to buy a Laptop pays only half of the full value (80%, precisely), in 24 months without taxes. You may ask, ok and the other 20%? We pay for it! And of course, this policy is optional.
Henri Alster is the founding Chairman of the GRI, a global club of investors active across the Americas, Europe, India and the Far East since 1998. He previously worked for 20 years as a real estate investment banker, advising or partnering with the likes of Goldman’s Whitehall Street, KLM Pensioenfonds, Forest City Enterprises and others across the USA and Europe. Mr. Alster led Citicorp's real estate investment banking efforts in Europe between 1988 and 1994, closing Europe’s two largest land deals at the time in Paris on behalf of Exxon and Pechiney. He previously spent 5 years in f/x activities with ITT Corp and Chemical Bank in New York and Brussels. A Columbia Business School MBA ('74), Henri is an undergraduate Technion Israel Industrial Engineer ('72). He is fluent in English, French, Hebrew, Dutch, Yiddish and German.
The GRI Group CEO is Gustavo Favaron, a professional who has a very diverse background and has gone through many challenging times.
From a very young age, Gustavo committed himself by selling raffle tickets to chicken eggs and other products, to make some money, in a very restricted youth.
As he advanced in his studies, he had experience in the journalistic coverage of major national and international events in newspapers and radio, where he got to know the legal backstage with a long stint in the Public Ministry. In Brazil, he worked in some companies, but it was in London that his career took off.
He went to London in 2007 to learn English and stayed there for many years. At first he worked in pubs and restaurants doing everything but very quickly he found a place in the corporate world where he had a unique career. He initially worked on bioenergy business development in Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Then, at the age of 30, he accepted the challenge of creating the GRI business in Brazil, but quickly did the same in India until he took on the position of Managing Director at the age of 32. He grew a lot and quickly, at GRI, transforming the business model and raising the group to a new level of growth and performance.
Today he holds the position of CEO of both the GRI Club as well as the 8 Capital, a conglomerate of companies that he conceived to raise the various initiatives he leads around the world. Within the Group of companies, he serves on the Board of some and is Co-Founder of the iDog app and the boutique recruitment company Global Talent.
Entrepreneur by nature, he is the father of Max and Sasha, loves the São Paulo soccer team, loves running and wine. He holds a degree in Law, Social Sciences, with a Masters in International Relations and Political Science.

Our employees are encouraged to work innovatively and autonomously. Within a horizontal management and access structure, everyone has the space to be their best version and is valued for their commitment. Meritocracy is the foundation of our culture and consists of recognizing and giving space for our talents to fly! We give equal opportunities to all our employees and we praise those who are committed to our company and deliver results.
Of course! In fact, we encourage all employees to explore their potential, whether in any of the group's companies, in all offices, in different areas.
We are not stuck in a generic career development process by position. Here, we look at our people's potential and opportunities individually. We don't believe in forcing everyone into the same career path. We trust that by treating each one in a unique way, we offer conditions for them to achieve their best.
Certainly, guidelines and paths are always laid out for everyone. But here we live the principle that we have to create an environment so that everyone is the best version of themselves.
At least 4 times a week we invite our employees to work in person, that way we are able to develop and maintain the connection between people who were recently hired and employees who have been with us for some time, encouraging the spreading of our culture to partnership between teams.
No, we are an established company, with a solid client base and two decades of concrete results. However, many who look at us from the outside think that we are a start up. That's because we have the spirit of a startup, our environment is extremely relaxed and innovative. The vast majority of our people are young and willing to learn. Our hierarchical culture is horizontal and our daily routine is dynamic.
